overview
Datong was an economically important district in Taipei in earlier times. Since Taipei's economic center has migrated to Zhongzheng , Da'an and Xinyi , Datong is no longer economically significant these days. Today, the district is mainly famous for its architecture from the Japanese colonial and Qing dynasty , especially along Dihua Street ( 迪化街 ). The Confucius Temple and the Bao'an Temple are also located in Datong.
