Neihu is located in the eastern urban area of ​​Taipei north of the Keelung River and is surrounded by the neighboring districts of Shilin in the north, Zhongshan and Songshan in the west, Nangang in the south and the Xizhi district of New Taipei city in the east. The terrain is hilly and characterized by numerous depressions , from which the Taiwanese name of the place, which means "inner depressions", is derived.
