Dave Albritton
Dave Albritton (actually David Donald Albritton ; born April 13, 1913 in Danville , Alabama , † May 15, 1994 in Dayton , Ohio ) was an American high jumper .
He belonged to the Ohio State University of the same student association as Jesse Owens , who also came from Alabama, and took part in the 1936 Olympic Games in Berlin.
At the national elimination match on July 12, 1936 in New York , the two colored high jumpers Cornelius Johnson and Albritton won together with the world record height of 2.07 m. Albritton won 1936–1938 and 1945–1947 the AAU title in the high jump, where he shared the title with another high jumper in 1936, 1938 and 1945. In 1960 he was elected a Republican to the Ohio House of Representatives, of which he was a member from 1961 to 1972.
