Dave McMoyler

David R. "Dave" McMoyler is a sound engineer .

Life

McMoyler began his career in the late 1980s. He made his debut in 1987 with the action film The Berserker starring Robert Carradine and Billy Dee Williams in the lead roles. He then initially worked for television, including on 21 episodes of the crime series In the Heat of the Night . For his work in television he was nominated four times for a Primetime Emmy between 1988 and 1991 , whereby he won the award twice: 1989 for the Western The Call of the Eagle, which received two Golden Globe Awards , and in 1991 for the historical film General, which received a total of four Emmys Custer's final battle .

At the beginning of the 1990s, the focus of his work shifted to film. He worked on Michael Mann's The Last of the Mohicans and Heat, among others . Between 2000 and 2016 he was nominated five times for the Golden Reel Award and was able to win the award once. 1999 he worked for The Mask of Zorro for the Oscar in the category sound editor Best nominated, but the award went this year to Gary Rydstrom and Richard Hymns for Saving Private Ryan .
