David "Dave" Pichette (born February 4, 1960 in Grand Falls , Newfoundland ) is a former Canadian ice hockey player who worked for the Québec Nordiques , St. Louis Blues , New Jersey Devils and New York from 1978 to 1990 Rangers has played in the National Hockey League .

Career

Dave Pichette began his career as a hockey player with the Québec Remparts , for which he was active from 1978 to 1980 in the Canadian junior league QMJHL . During this period he received on October 31, 1979 as a free agent a contract with the Québec Nordiques , for which he played from 1980 to 1984 in the National Hockey League . During this period, the defender was also used for the Nordiques farm teams , the Hershey Bears and Fredericton Express in the American Hockey League . On February 10, 1984, he was given in exchange for Andre Dore to the St. Louis Blues . By the end of the 1983/84 season he scored a goal for the Blues in 32 games and prepared another 13 goals.

On October 9, 1984, Pichette was selected by the New Jersey Devils in the NHL Waiver Draft . After he still had a regular place in the NHL squad in the first year in the Devils franchise , he ran in the 1985/86 season alternately for New Jersey in the NHL and its farm team, the Maine Mariners , in the AHL. In the 1986/87 season, the Canadian was finally on the ice exclusively for the Mariners in the AHL. In the following season he completed six more games for the New York Rangers in the NHL, but could not prevail at the Rangers and spent most of the time in the AHL farm team with the New Haven Nighthawks . After starting the 1988/89 season at Krefelder EV in the Bundesliga , he played for the Cape Breton Oilers and Halifax Citadels in the American Hockey League until he retired in 1990 at the age of 30 .

On the occasion of the Heroes of Hockey Game , which took place as part of the NHL All-Star Games , he laced his ice skates again in 2001.
