He made some well-known sculptures in Prague , such as the crawling toddlers on the pillars of the TV tower and St. Wenceslas sitting on the belly of a horse hanging upside down in the Lucerna Passage, a parody of the equestrian statue on Wenceslas Square .
The sculpture Quo Vadis , which depicts a Trabant with four legs, also comes from Černý . With this sculpture, Černý paid tribute to the events of September 1989, when thousands of GDR citizens fled to the German embassy in Prague , leaving their Trabants behind in Prague. The original of the sculpture is now in the collection of the Contemporary History Forum in Leipzig , and a copy is in the park of the German embassy in Prague.
On the occasion of the Czech EU Council Presidency in 2009 , Černý created the installation Entropa , which depicts prejudices against the individual EU members. This triggered indignation in several countries, especially in Bulgaria , whose outlines were depicted in the form of a squat toilet.
Beyond the Czech Republic, his art has spread internationally in London and Blankenberge (Belgium).
The former Foreign Minister of the Czech Republic, Karel Schwarzenberg , said in an article for the Metropolis magazine , which is broadcast on the cultural channel arte , that he had known few artists in life who were not in the opposition; Černý is no exception.
