David is a Dutch animated short film directed by Paul Driessen from 1977. The English version was voiced by Peter Bierman and the Dutch version by Aart Staartjes .

action

A giant tries in vain to kill little David. In the end, David brings him down, causing the giant to sink into the ground, and David walks away laughing. David is so small that he is invisible to the naked eye. He frightens a dwarf who tells someone about the little man, but the other dwarf replies that he doesn't believe in fairy tales. David goes on and shows himself to the viewer in different ways, so he throws his own shadow on the ground and inflates a balloon that carries him up briefly. Finally he drops a few drops of ink from his pen on the floor. He steps in and leaves a trail on his way. This causes a bird to pounce on it, but David can successfully fight the bird. In addition to David, numerous feathers also remain. A man comes with his son to the scene of the fight that has ended. The man explains to the boy that some creature must have abused the poor little bird like that. He is indignant about the big ones who don't let the little ones live, and kicks David dead while walking. A small puddle of ink remains.

Awards

David won the Grand Prix (later Cristal d'Annecy) of the Festival d'Animation Annecy in 1977 .
