David B. Brunner

David B. Brunner (born March 7, 1835 in Amity , Berks County , Pennsylvania , †  November 29, 1903 in Reading , Pennsylvania) was an American politician . Between 1889 and 1893 he represented the state of Pennsylvania in the US House of Representatives .

Career

David Brunner attended the public schools in his home country and then completed an apprenticeship in carpentry. Between 1853 and 1856 he taught as a teacher. At the same time he continued his own training with a degree in Classical Classical Studies. In 1860 he graduated from Dickinson College in Carlisle . From 1860 to 1869 he was principal director of the Reading Classical Academy . In 1880 he founded the Reading Business College . Politically, he was a member of the Democratic Party .

In the congressional elections of 1888 Brunner was elected to the US House of Representatives in Washington, DC in the ninth constituency of Pennsylvania , where he succeeded Republican John Andrew Hiestand on March 4, 1889 . After re-election, he was able to complete two legislative terms in Congress until March 3, 1893 . In 1892 he renounced another candidacy. After serving in the US House of Representatives, Brunner taught at Reading Business College . He died in Reading on November 29, 1903.
