David Barsamian

David Barsamian (* 1945 in New York ) is a radio reporter and writer of Armenian-American origin. He is also the founder and director of Alternative Radio , a weekly chat program broadcast in Boulder, Colorado that is broadcast on approximately 150 radio stations in various countries.

Life and Political Work

Barsamian started to work at KGNU in Boulder, Colorado in 1978, after which he worked at KRZA in Alamosa, Colorado .

Articles and interviews by and with Barsamian have appeared in The Progressive , The Nation and Z Magazine . Barsamian also teaches United States foreign policy , corporate control, the media, and opinion manipulation. He is a member of the Campaign for Peace and Democracy .

As an author, Barsamian is known for a number of interviews with Noam Chomsky that have been published as a book.

On September 23, 2011 Barsamian was deported from India . After arriving at Indira Gandhi International Airport , he was denied entry and ordered to fly back. Barsamian explains this behavior as a reaction to his report on human rights violations in Jammu and Kashmir .
