David Bayer

Johann David Bayer (* around 1757 in Dresden , Kingdom of Saxony ; † December 26, 1807 in Friedland , Mecklenburg ) was a German organ builder in Schwerin and Friedland.

Life

His training is unknown. In 1790 Bayer married in Dresden and was referred to as an organ builder and instrument maker. In 1794 he was mentioned in Schwerin with a Mecklenburg organ builder privilege. Some repairs to organs followed over the next few years. Around 1799 (?) He was living in Wolgast, in 1802 he lived in Friedland and died there in 1807.

Works (selection)

David Bayer is known to have built two new organs and some repairs in Mecklenburg, one in Vorpommern (Wolgast). The organ in Kotelow has been preserved.
