David Dryer

David Dryer is an American cameraman and film technician who specializes in visual effects .

Life

After graduating in physics and cinema from the Phi Beta Kappa fraternity at the University of Southern California Film School in 1965 , he worked as a film editor for three years. He then moved to The Haboush Company as a director of commercials . He then spent twelve more years as a commercial film director at EUE / Screen Gems . For his first work on a blockbuster , the 1982 film Blade Runner directed by Ridley Scott, Dryer was nominated for an Oscar in the category Best Visual Effects , along with colleagues Douglas Trumbull and Richard Yuricich . He then returned to the advertising film industry, where he worked for Nissan , among others , before he was hired for his second feature film, Never Say Never . Dryer owned Sunspots in Hollywood from 1990 to 2004 . Since his last film from 2004, Like a Single Day , he has worked as a freelance cameraman and director.
