David Emilius Heinrich Koblank

David Emilius Heinrich Koblank (born November 26, 1791 in Berlin ; † April 30, 1864 there ) was a pharmacist, pharmacist and local politician in old Berlin .

Life

He completed a pharmacy degree at Berlin University . In 1813 Koblank took part in the battles near Dennewitz and Großbeeren as a voluntary member of the Landwehr cavalry with the rank of lieutenant . During the Wars of Liberation he served in the 7th Cuirassier Regiment and retired from the military in June 1816. Around 1820 he bought the house at Friedrichstrasse 205/206 with the Weißer Adler pharmacy . In 1825 he was able to acquire a doctorate , at the same time that the Berliners elected him to the city council. Koblank later rose to become district chairman, became a member of the provincial council of the Brandenburg province and military commissioner in the Berlin magistrate .

Honors

During his lifetime, in 1861, the police chief paid tribute to his work for the city by assigning the name Koblankstrasse to a street that had just been built in Berlin-Mitte (since 1953 Zolastrasse ). On March 12, 1863, Koblank received the honorary title of city ​​elder , which had been awarded to around 200 Berlin citizens since 1820.
