David Richard Fliehr (born March 6, 1979 in Minneapolis , Minnesota ), better known by his stage name David Flair , is an American wrestler . He is the son of wrestling icon "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair .

Wrestling career

World Championship Wrestling (1993 to 2000)

Flair had appeared in World Championship Wrestling since 1993 , but not as a wrestler, but as the ring companion of his father, WCW President Ric Flair. In 1999 he made his debut as a wrestler. At first he worked with his father, but later turned against him within a storyline and became a member of nWo , a group striving to take over the doctorate. In May 1999, according to the storyline, he reconciled himself with his father and the latter then put his stable "The Four Horsemen" at his side, which should help him with his matches.

Since Ric Flair held the office of WCW President, he declared his son WCW United States Champion in July 1999 . He lost the title again after Ric Flair failed to perform for a while because of an argument with Eric Bischoff . Upon his father's return, both began a feud against Diamond Dallas Page and his wife, Kimberly. After Page had injured his father, Flair forced him to take a break with an attack; after that he feuded with Kimberly.

From December 1999 Flair formed a stable with “Crowbar” and “Daffney”, which was called “New Hardcore Revolution”. Together with Crowbar, he won the final of a tournament for the vacant WCW Tag Team Championship in January 2000 . 17 days later they lost the title again. In May 2000 the team was disbanded and Flair became a member of Vince Russo's stable "New Blood". He then started another feud with his father before leaving WCW at the end of 2000.

National Wrestling Alliance and World Wrestling Federation (2001 to 2002)

From the beginning of 2001 Fliehr was employed in various leagues of the National Wrestling Alliance and won the NWA World Tag Team Championship together with Don Factor in March . Two days later they lost the title and in the team with Romeo Bliss he again won the "NWA Georgia Tag Team Championship" one day later. From May he was active in the Ohio Valley Wrestling Development League of the World Wrestling Federation . He feuded here with Val Venis and formed a short-lived tag team with Mark Jindrak . He only appeared twice on the main shows; both against The Undertaker .

Total Nonstop Action Wrestling and Independent Leagues (2002 to 2006)

In December 2002 Fliehr began working for Total Nonstop Action Wrestling . Here his ring figure David Flair became a member of Vince Russo's stable "Sports Entertainment Xtreme" and had a brief feud against Curt Hennig . He then became a member of "Next Generation" alongside Brian Lawler and Erik Watts and feuded with them against Dusty Rhodes . Fliehr left TNA in early 2003.

Fliehr was again active in independent leagues and won the IWA Intercontinental Title in November , which he lost again two days later. After problems with IWA promoter Victor Quinones, he left the league. Subsequently, his appearances became less and apart from an appearance on a tour for All Japan Pro Wrestling in 2004, Fliehr was hardly seen. In spring 2006 he had a so-called "dark" match against William Regal on SmackDown! and then made appearances in the organization of Hermie Sadler.
