Sean Allen Morley (born March 6, 1971 in Oakville , Ontario , Canada ), better known by his ring name Val Venis , is a Canadian wrestler . His biggest success so far was receiving the WWF Intercontinental Champion title twice with World Wrestling Entertainment .
Career
Morley began wrestling in the early 1990s. His coach at the time was Dewey Robertson. In 1991 he competed in Canadian independent leagues, but soon became internationally active. He competed for All Japan Pro Wrestling in Japan and Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre in Mexico .
In 1998 he signed a contract with WWE , which gave him the gimmick of a porn star. From this point onwards he was given the ring name Val Venis. His first fight in the WWE against Scorpio he was able to end with a win.
In 1999 he had a feud with the then Intercontinental Champion Ken Shamrock , from whom he was able to remove the title. Just a few weeks later, however, he lost the title again. At Armageddon 1999 he was able to win the WWF European title in a triple threat match against The British Bulldog and D'Lo Brown .
In 2000 they changed their appearance - short hair, white boots. In July he was able to become Intercontinental Champion again. In the same year he also became a member of the Right to Censor Stables , consisting of Val Venis, Ivory, Steven Richards , The Godfather and Bull Buchanan.
After an accident in a motorcycle race, he had to take a short injury break. He came back at the Royal Rumble in 2002. After two brief feuds against Steve Austin and Mr. Perfect , he was sent to SmackDown by RAW . In July 2002 he had to take another long injury break after a piece of gymnastics equipment fell on him in a gym in Australia .
In September 2002 he returned to SmackDown , where he was used in dark matches . On November 18th of the same year he made his TV comeback under his real name, Sean Morley. In March 2003 he became World Tag Team Champion with Lance Storm .
In 2004 Morley was employed almost exclusively as a high-quality jobber . At the end of 2005 a tag team was founded with Viscera . After a few tag team title fights, he sustained an arm injury , according to the storyline . The resulting break enabled him to cure his real elbow problems.
After his comeback at RAW , he began a feud with Santino Marella . During this feud, he was injured again by Marella. On January 10, 2009, the WWE fired him due to austerity measures.
On January 4, 2010, Sean Morley made his debut in Total Nonstop Action Wrestling under his real name. However, he announced on March 5th of the same year that he had left TNA again.
