He made his debut on November 11, 2000 (16th matchday) in a 5-2 win in the away game against FC Rot-Weiß Erfurt with a substitute for Steffen Hofmann in the 88th minute. His seven other point games were also characterized by substitutions.
At the beginning of 2001 David Gögh moved to the Czech first division club FK Mladá Boleslav , for whom he played 49 league encounters in two and a half seasons and scored four goals. In 2004 he was loaned to the third division club FK Zenit Čáslav , with whom he rose as a champion in the second division at the end of the 2005/06 season . In the summer of 2006, Gögh ended his professional career for health reasons and played for the second team of FK Mladá Boleslav. In the winter break of 2007/08 he moved to Union St. Roman from the municipality of the same name in Upper Austria and left the seventh division team playing in 1st class in the northeast at the beginning of 2009.
