Conspiracy theories as of September 11, 2001

As a result of the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001 , Griffin began to consider explanations other than those of the US authorities. In his book, The New Pearl Harbor , published in 2004 , he advocated the conspiracy thesis that neoconservatives in the US government not only subsequently used the attacks as a reason for war and conquest, but also actively brought about them to create this reason for war. The book title quotes an expression from a document by the neoconservative think tank " Project for the New American Century " from 2000: In it the authors had written that only a catastrophic event like a "new Pearl Harbor " could transform the protracted change in US military strategy into a more offensive one Alignment faster.

Griffin stated that he initially researched US foreign policy in the 20th century and interpreted the attacks as a reaction to US imperialism without examining the evidence that al-Qaeda was involved . But he knew that "US governments had already falsified evidence several times in order to go to war". Writings by Paul Thompson and Nafeez Ahmed ultimately convinced him that there must have been individual accomplices in these attacks in the USA. In main part 1 of the book on the four plane attacks, he advocates the thesis of a secretly prepared controlled demolition of buildings 1, 2 and 7 of the World Trade Center . In Part 2, he sets out his theses as answers to “worrying questions”: US officials had prior knowledge of the 9/11 attacks and had reasons to allow them. They hindered the investigation and blocked arrests.

In the second edition, Griffin reacted to the 9/11 Commission Report, which has since appeared . Specifically, he published the book The 9/11 Commission Report: Omissions And Distortions , in which he also attacked the composition of the commission of inquiry, their selection of witnesses and the evaluation of the testimony as a sign of government dependence. He spreads his theses as "irrefutable evidence" that the official investigation reports are false and conceal the actual causes and the people behind them.
