David Katoatau (born July 17, 1984 in Nonouti ) is a Kiribati weightlifter .
Career
David Katoatau took part as the flag bearer of his country in the Olympic Summer Games 2008 , where he could achieve the fifteenth place in the category up to 85 kg with 313 kg. At the 2007 World Cup he was 37th in the weight class up to 85 kg with 281 kg. At the Oceania Championships in 2006 he was third and 2007 first.
At the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow , he won the first gold in the history of sports in Kiribati in the weight class up to 105 kilograms with a total of 348 kilograms in snatching and pushing.
