At the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow there were 15 weightlifting competitions, eight for men and seven for women. The venue was the Scottish Exhibition and Conference Center .

Chika Amalaha , who won the gold medal in women up to 53 kg, was subsequently disqualified after a positive doping test. The athletes placed behind her each moved up one place.
