David Edward Lea, Baron Lea of ​​Crondall (born November 2, 1937 in England ) is a British trade unionist, Labor Party politician and member of the House of Lords since 1999 .

Life

David Lea attended Farnham Grammar School , in Farnham , Surrey, and later Christ's College , Cambridge , where he studied economics .

On July 21, 1999 he was promoted to Baron Lea of ​​Crondall , of Crondall in the County of Hampshire, and received a seat in the House of Lords for life .

In 2000 he was elected to the Central Arbitration Committee (Central Commission for Arbitration Tribunals) and was a member of it until 2010. From 2000 to 2005 he was Council Member, Britain in Europe . In 2007 and 2008 he participated as an election observer in the Democratic Republic of the Congo and in Nepal in international projects beyond the EU borders.
