David Michelinie

David Michelinie (born May 6, 1948 ) is an American comic book writer .

Life and work

Michelinie began working as a full-time comic book writer in the mid-1970s. His earliest works include stories for at DC Comics appearing series House of Secrets and Swamp Thing .

In 1977 he moved to Marvel Comics , where he initially wrote - from 1978 to 1981 - for the series Iron Man , which he enriched with many lasting plot elements (such as the title character's alcohol problems ). His artistic partner on this project was the draftsman Bob McLeod. This was followed by a long run as an author on various Spider-Man series such as Web of Spider-Man and The Amazing Spider-Man (1987-1994). In parallel, Michelinie wrote two years (1979–1981) stories for the Avengers series and one year (1980) stories for the Daredevil series .

In the 1990s, Michelinie wrote for DC Comics for three years (1994-1997) on the traditional series Action Comics , which is about the adventures of the superhero Superman.

Together with Bob Layton and Dick Giordano , Michelinie founded Future Comics in 2001, which had to be closed in 2004 after only two and a half years of existence.
