David Nopper (born January 25, 1995 ) is a German high jumper who competes for the LAZ Ludwigsburg .

Career

After he caused a sensation at the German championships of active athletes in 2014 and surprisingly finished second, before the start of the 2015 season he moved from LAV Stadtwerke Tübingen to the athletics center Salamander Kornwestheim-Ludwigsburg . In the 2015 season he had his breakthrough: With an increase in his personal best by ten centimeters to 2.25 m, he won the German U23 title as well as the gold medal at the German championships . With his participation in the U23 European Championship in Tallinn , he was also able to gain international experience.

After two successful years, he was unable to meet expectations in the 2016 season . Due to health problems, he stayed seven centimeters below his personal best at 2.18 m and was named the unlucky person of the year in the high jump category by the DLV . In November 2016, it became known that he was moving to the newly founded LAZ Ludwigsburg for the 2017 season after the LAZ Salamander was dissolved in favor of the LAZ Ludwigsburg.

David Nopper is trained by the national high jump trainer Steffen Hertel. He is currently completing training with the police , which releases him for training and competitions.
