David Padilla
David Padilla Arancibia (born August 13, 1927 in Sucre , Bolivia , † September 25, 2016 ) was a Bolivian military man who was de facto President of the Republic of Bolivia from November 24, 1978 to August 8, 1979 .
Padilla, who came from a group of democracy-oriented military, wanted the country to quickly get back on a democratic path. After the presidential election at the beginning of August 1979, which ended in a fiasco for Padilla, he resigned as president. He was replaced by Wálter Guevara .
