David Patrick Kelly (born January 23, 1951 in Detroit ) is an American actor.

biography

Kelly was born in Detroit in 1951. He grew up in Michigan and graduated from Bishop Gallagher High School in Harper Woods , Michigan, in 1970 . He played his first role in 1979 in Walter Hill's controversial gang war film The Warriors . In 1982 you can see him in the hit film Just 48 Hours in a supporting role as a crook and in 1985 in a short role as a gangster in the action film Das Phantomkommando with Arnold Schwarzenegger . He played Jerry Horne in the cult series Twin Peaks by David Lynch . His possibly best-known roles are that of T-Bird in the comic book adaptation The Crow and as gang leader "Doyle" in Last Man Standing . He also played in Flags of Our Fathers . In 2001 he starred alongside Kevin Spacey in the science fiction film K-PAX - Anything is Possible .

Kelly is also known as a stage actor. Kelly has played roles in classic theater plays on some of the most prestigious American stages. He played the main role in Woyzeck and Tartuffe and Iago in Othello . In 1998 he received the Obie Award for permanent excellence.

Kelly is an experienced mandolin and guitar player and appears as a musician in the New York cabaret scene.

He has been married to the actress and writer Juliana Francis since August 15, 2005.

He holds the Nidan rank in the martial arts Seido Karate and practices three forms of Taijiquan (Chen, Yang, Palm).
