David Rivas Rodríguez (born December 2, 1978 in Dos Hermanas ) is a former Spanish football player . He played a total of 150 games in the Primera División and the Romanian League 1 . In 2005 he won the Copa del Rey with Betis Sevilla .

Career

The 1.90 meter tall central defender spent most of his professional career with the Spanish first division club Betis Sevilla . He began his professional career in the 1998/1999 season at Club Betis Sevilla B, where he scored three goals in 38 league games.

However, the second team could not hold him for long and he moved to Real Betis A in the following season . Up until the 2006/2007 season he scored eight goals in 172 games for the senior team. In 2005 he won the coveted Copa del Rey trophy with his team. In the 2005/2006 season he also played 7 games in the UEFA Champions League and had 2 appearances in the UEFA Cup .

In summer 2010 he moved to Romania to FC Vaslui . There he finished the 2010/11 season in third place, but could not prevail permanently. After only one year he returned to Spain and was hired by SD Huesca in the Segunda División . At the end of the 2012/13 season , he had to relegate his club. He then ended his career in the summer of 2013.
