David Santee (born July 22, 1957 in Oak Park , Illinois ) is a former American figure skater who started in a single run .
Santee was eight times on the podium at the national championships , four times he was American runner-up. From 1976 to 1982 he started at every world championship and never placed worse than eighth. At the 1976 Olympic Games he was sixth. In 1980 he narrowly missed a medal at the World Championships as well as at the Olympic Games as fourth behind compatriot Charles Tickner . The following year he was runner-up behind Scott Hamilton in Hartford and thus celebrated the greatest success of his career.
His younger brother Jimmy Santee was also a figure skater and became the USA Junior Champion in 1979. David Santee works as an official at the ISU .
