David Sauerland (born June 28, 1997 in Münster ) is a German football player . The right-back has been under contract with Rot-Weiss Essen since 2019 .

Career

Born in Münster, he began playing soccer at 1. FC Gievenbeck in the district of the same name. He came to the first team of Eintracht Braunschweig for the third division season 2018/19 via the youth teams of Preußen Münster and Borussia Dortmund .

He made his professional debut on matchday three in the home stadium in a 1-1 draw against FSV Zwickau , where he was in the starting line-up. After a year in Braunschweig and relegation with the team, he moved to the regional division Rot-Weiss Essen .
