David Schedlich
David Schedlich (* 1607 in St. Joachimsthal ; † November 11, 1687 in Nuremberg ) was a German composer of the 17th century.

David Schedlich was born in 1607 as the son of the St. Joachimthaler hospital master and later mayor Andreas Schedlich. His brother Jacob (1591–1669) was a pupil of Hans Leo Haßler , a well-known master organ builder and mayor of his hometown for 36 years.
Through his marriage to Johann Staden's daughter Magdalena in 1631, Schedlich was accepted into one of the most famous Nuremberg families of musicians. From 1632 he worked as an organist at the Nuremberg Frauenkirche and from 1634 at the Spitalkirche . In 1655 he succeeded his brother-in-law Theophil Staden as organist of the St. Lorenz Church . He created various baroque compositions . His sacred songs and funeral music attract special attention. In addition, some chamber music works were created.
