David Seltenreich (* around 1540 in St. Joachimsthal ; † December 1614 there ) was a Bohemian mountain master , vice judge and town bailiff.

Life

David Seltenreich was the son of Andreas Seltenreich († February 23, 1572 in St. Joachimsthal), elected mayor in 1548, and of Clara, daughter of the citizen and treasurer in St. Joachimsthal, Benedix Kneuffel (Kneuffler), who was married to him on April 7, 1532. He was also shift supervisor and donated the figure for the Lord's burial for the town church .

Seltenreich appeared as a shift supervisor as early as 1568. According to the city chronicle, he was appointed city bailiff in 1577 and on February 1, 1590, the new mountain master as successor to Gabriel Kolb . In the same year he was elected vice judge due to the "weakness" of the judge Joachim Stumpf. In 1613 Seltenreich, who had been a member of the council for nineteen years and Bergmeister for twenty-two, asked for his discharge from his duties because of his old age. He is then "different in God the last Dec. Anno 14th." One of his brothers was the town clerk and town chronicler Johann Seltenreich . He had quit his job on June 16, 1594 because of his age.

His sons-in-law were the pastor and city chronicler Jakob Schober and the pastor Johann Rebentrost (baptized August 8, 1573 in Platten † 1660 in Drebach ).
