David Spaeth

David Spaeth at the 2019 Grimme Prize

David Spaeth (* 1975 in Nantes , France ) is a German film director and author .

Life

After studying theater , film and television studies as well as Romance studies / French and musicology at the Ruhr University Bochum , Spaeth studied directing at the Baden-Württemberg Film Academy . During this time, B_side and Storytelling man - looking for traces with Henning Mankell - made the first longer documentaries that were broadcast on public television.

Spaeth mainly works on documentaries and in teaching. Since 2010 he has been teaching at the Baden-Württemberg Film Academy . Since 2018 also at the HFF Munich .
