David Vyssoki

David Vyssoki (born June 22, 1948 in Chernivtsi ) is an Austrian specialist in psychiatry and neurology . In 1994 he was co-founder and until 2011 Primary of the psychosocial outpatient clinic ESRA (Vienna) . He lives in Vienna.

Life

David Vyssoki grew up in Chernivtsi, his father was Nathan Vyssoki and his mother Raja Vyssoki (née Muzicant). After the death of his parents in 1962 he came to live with his uncle Gersh Muzicant in Vienna. After completing his medical studies, he completed his specialist training in psychiatry and neurology in Linz, London and Rome from 1978 to 1985. He then worked for eight years as a senior physician in the Otto Wagner Hospital , then for one year in the Social Medical Center East - Donauspital . In 1994 he was co-founder and medical director of the ESRA psychosocial center in Vienna. The focus of the work was the psychosocial care of survivors of Nazi persecution, as well as their descendants, who mostly suffered and suffer from post-traumatic stress disorder. David Vyssoki left ESRA in 2011. He lives in Vienna , works as a psychotherapist and has two sons.

Act

In addition to his work in the field of post-traumatic stress disorder and the establishment of ESRA, David Vyssoki also works as a judicial expert for neurology, psychiatry and psychotherapeutic medicine and has been a member of the ethics committee of the city of Vienna since 1995 . In 2013 he was awarded the Golden Merit of the Republic of Austria for his achievements . He is also co-founder and spokesman for the “Psychotraumatology” working group of the “Austrian Society for Psychiatry and Psychotherapy”. In 1991 he played the psychiatrist Dr. Olschitzky in the fourth part of Dieter Berner's TV film series Die Arbeitersaga .
