David Will (sports official)
David Will , CBE (born November 20, 1936 in Edzell , † September 25, 2009 ) was a Scottish sports official .
Life
Will played actively himself in his youth, but had to give up his career after a skiing accident and became a lawyer . He was chairman of Brechin City FC for more than twenty years and from 1983 first vice- chairman and from 1984 president of the Scottish football association SFA . Between 1984 and 1986 he was also a member of the UEFA Executive Committee . In 1990 he joined the FIFA Executive Committee and became FIFA Vice President. As part of his work for FIFA , he was in charge of the soccer world championships in 2002 in Japan and Korea and in 2006 in Germany .
Will was named Commander of the Order of the British Empire in 2002 and Honorary FIFA Vice-President in 2007.
