Davide Formisano

Davide Formisano (born October 20, 1974 in Milan ) is an Italian classical flutist .

Education and career

Davide Formisano studied at the Milan Conservatory with Carlo Taberelli and G. Cambursano and completed his studies in 1992 with a diploma (top grade with distinction). This was followed by a degree in "Artistic Education" with Jean-Claude Gérard at the Stuttgart University of Music (diploma 1995); At the same time, Formisano took private lessons with Aurèle Nicolet in 1994/95 . In 1994 Davide Formisano became deputy solo flutist at the Hamburg State Opera . In 1996 he took over the post of solo flutist of the Philharmonic Radio Orchestra Holland , and a year later he moved to the same position at La Scala in Milan , which he still holds today.

James Galway said of Formisano: "Davide is the most brilliant and talented flutist I have ever heard. I think he will become an absolute international superstar sooner or later." Davide Formisano plays a Muramatsu flute made of 24- carat gold.
