Dawid Janczyk (born September 23, 1987 in Nowy Sącz , Poland ) is a Polish football player .

Club career

Janczyk scored five goals in 18 games in his first season (2005/06) in the Ekstraklasa and was instant Polish champion with Legia Warsaw . He also scored three goals in a group match against Belgium at the U-19 European Football Championship in Poland in 2006 . In Poland he is considered to be a great striker and is referred to there as "Polish Rooney" because of his physique. At the U-20 World Cup in Canada in 2007 , he was the most successful Polish player with three goals in four games.

For the 2007/08 season Janczyk moved from Legia Warsaw to CSKA Moscow , where he signed a five-year contract. At CSKA, Janczyk was then only a substitute player. For the second half of the 2008/09 season he was loaned to the Belgian club KSC Lokeren to collect match practice. From January 2010 to February 2011 he played for the Belgian first division club Germinal Beerschot Antwerp . In early 2011 he was loaned to the Polish first division club Korona Kielce . However, he did not score a single goal in seven league games. At the end of August 2011 he was loaned to the Ukrainian first division club PFK Oleksandrija for nine months . Here he could not gain a foothold and only played 3 league games. After his return to CSKA Moscow , he played no role at all in the club's plans. There were also rumors about Janczyk's alcohol addiction. Trial training sessions at the Irish Limerick FC and the Greek club Panionios Athens were unsuccessful. Dawid Janczyk has been training with the reserve team of his former employer Legia Warsaw since the end of January 2014. It is planned to use him for the reserve team in the 3rd division. After Dawid Janczyk got the offer to train with the professional team of the first division club Piast Gliwice , he took it up. For the 2014/2015 season he signed a 6-month contract with the Gliwice Club. In the Polish Ekstraklasa he was only used in 3 games and was mainly used in the reserve team, which plays in the 4th division. In April 2015, the contract was terminated by mutual agreement. At the end of February 2016, Dawid Janczyk signed a contract with the second division club and his former youth club Sandecja Nowy Sącz .

Although Dawid Janczyk was previously nominated several times for the Polish senior team, he only made his debut on December 14, 2008 in a friendly against Serbia (1-0).
