Sandecja Nowy Sącz (officially Miejski Klub Sportowy Sandecja w Nowym Sączu ) is a Polish football club from the city of Nowy Sącz in the Lesser Poland Voivodeship .
history
The club was founded in 1910 on the initiative of the head of the Sokół gymnastics movement , Adam Bieda . The club name has its origin in the Latin name Nova Civitas Sandecz . The first president was Józef Damse. The club played in the first division in 1986/87 and 1991/92 , and has played there again since 2009. In the 2016/17 season , the club became champions of the first division, which was the first time they were promoted to Ekstraklasa . The following season they missed relegation and were the last to relegate.

Stadion
Today's stadium was officially opened on May 1, 1970. The opening game played the Polish youth national team against the Hungarian . It ended 2: 3, one of the goalscorers was Kazimierz Kmiecik . There were about ten thousand spectators in the stadium. Until 1998 the stadium was named XXV-lecia PRL (German: 25th Anniversary of the People's Republic of Poland ), before it was installed in the stadium on June 2, 2001 in memory of the late priest Władysław Augustynek . Ojca Władysława Augustynka was renamed. In the 2017/18 season in the Ekstraklasa, Sandecja played in the neighboring Bruk-Bet stadium of league rivals Bruk-Bet Termalica Nieciecza . It is currently being built on a new stadium in Nowy Sącz.
