De Eekbom

De Eekbom (also Uns' Eekboom , from 1925 De Eekboom ) was a Low German cultural magazine that, with several interruptions , appeared mainly in Low German from 1883 to 1934 . For a long time of its appearance, De Eekbom was the association newspaper of the General Low German Association .

Edition history

The magazine appeared weekly from 1883 in Berlin. The title of the magazine was 1883–1885 and 1897–1924 De Eekbom , 1885 / 86–1889 / 90 and 1893–1896 Uns' Eekbom . 1925-1934 was the name De Eekboom .

From September 1890 to June 1893, Uns' Eekbom appeared as a supplement to the Braunschweig magazine Muddersprake . When the Eekbom year count was resumed in 1897 , this time was taken into account.

Later publishing places of the Eekbom were Magdeburg (1889/1890), again Berlin (1893–1915), Hamburg (1916–1923), Stettin (1924), again Hamburg (1924–1926) and Glückstadt (1927–1934).

Editor and editor

The first editors were Albert Laeschke in 1883 and A. Kues that same year. From 1885/1886 on, the Low German federal board acted as publisher. From issue 15 of the year 1897 until the end of the publication, the Allgemeine Plattdeutsche Verband was named as the publisher. The first editors were Eduard Jürgensen (Ete Jörnsen), A. Kues, Wilhelm Bade and Hermann Jahnke . Albert Schwarz was the first editor from 1895 to 1920 . From 1922 to 1934 the editorial team was headed by Hermann Quistorf .

Well-known authors of the Eekbom were Karl Eggers , Johann Hinrich Fehrs , Klaus Groth , Johann Hinrich Otto Meyer and Jan Hinnerk Wördemann .
