Hermann Jahnke

Hermann Friedrich Jahnke (born April 20, 1845 in Wintersfelde , Greifenhagen district ; † December 12, 1908 in Pötzscha , Pirna official authority ) was a German teacher and author .

Life

Hermann Jahnke was born on the estate of his parents who later moved with him to Selchow near Czarnikau . Here he attended school and the preparatory institute before he went to the teachers' college in Bromberg in 1864 . In 1867 he first took on a position as a country teacher, then became a teacher in Schönlanke until he went to Berlin as a teacher in 1870 .

From 1883 to 1885, Jahnke and Wilhelm Bade (1855–1900) headed the editorial team of De Eekbom magazine . In 1879 he became a member of the "Schurr-Murr" association and in 1881 helped found the "Quickborn" association in Berlin. In 1891 he founded the "German Teachers' Association" in Berlin.

From 1907 onwards, Jahnke spent his old age in Pötzscha near Wehlen . In 1911 the General Low German Association donated a grave monument for Jahnke in the Wehlener Friedhof.
