The De Mäkelbörger Backwaren GmbH group of companies was a German baked goods manufacturer .
history
It was founded in 1969 and privatized in 1991. The production of frozen bread, rolls and confectionery products started in 1997. In 2003, the company took over the Greifswald bakery Schulz, a new production site with 10 branches. A year later, the subsidiary "Der Havelbäcker" was founded in Wustermark near Berlin as the third production site. A fourth production line was started in 2008 with the Gut Falkenhof organic bakery. In June 2011 the pro-hav GmbH, a 100% subsidiary of De Mäkelbörger Backwaren GmbH, was founded. With the takeover of the handicraft bakery in Prenzlauer Promenade, the branch network expanded to include 85 franchise branches in the greater Berlin area. On July 1, 2014, the protective shield proceedings were lifted and insolvency proceedings were formally opened. The last branch of the bakery closed on December 24, 2014.
The company was taken over by the Pasewalker Lila Bäcker . The merger created a bakery group with a turnover of around 150 million euros, more than 3,000 jobs and 500 branches in northeast Germany
