action

Gillian Hayes is a Seattle based surgeon. One patient dies during the operation. The coroner says that he has the impression that something is about to explode in the patient's chest. The policeman Lt. Tom Royko is investigating the case, suspecting Hayes and interrogating her.

When Hayes is operating again and wants to implant a pacemaker , a call comes in claiming that an explosion will take place in the operating room at 1:00 p.m. The staff is instructed to leave the room. Hayes is left alone with the patient. Royko comes and tells Hayes to leave too. He pulls it away just before the explosion in the patient's body.

Hayes gives Royko a list of their previous relationships. Royko reveals to her that he used to suspect her.

Hayes gets a broadcast on a cell phone . The bomb maker says that a passenger is about to die. The phone shows the time until the explosion. Royko and Hayes find the victim at the airport, a Benjamin McDonald. They suspect that the pacemaker would explode if you tried to remove it. They want to use a heart simulator as the solution to the problem. Since the device does not arrive, they try emergency surgery. The pacemaker explodes, McDonald dies.

Royko finds out that the bomb maker's 12-year-old son died when he was operated on by Hayes.

A pupil in a primary school is expected to die soon. This time the pacemaker can be removed. Hayes recognizes one of the teachers who was her patient. The teacher dies in the explosion in his chest.
