Deanna Bogart 2010

Deanna Bogart (born September 5, 1959 in Washington, DC ) is an American pianist, singer, songwriter and saxophone player. Her musical career began at the age of 21 as a member of the band "Cowboy Jazz", which was dedicated to western swing music of the 1940s. After they broke up, she played rhythm and blues in the Washington, DC based band "Root Boy Slim"played. In her compositions she combines these different influences, but jazz and soul also influenced her musical work. She began recording in 1989, but her fan base grew mainly through numerous concerts across the United States.
