Deathlike Silence Productions
Deathlike Silence Productions (DSP) was a Norwegian music label that was founded in the late 1980s . It was operated by Øystein “Euronymous” Aarseth , the guitarist of the black metal band Mayhem at the time, until this was played in August 1993 by Varg “Count Grishnackh” Vikernes , protagonist of his one-man band Burzum and at that time bassist for Mayhem , was killed.
The name of the record company comes from the song Deathlike Silence by the band Sodom . The company was based in Euronymous' record store Helvete ( Norwegian : ' Hell ') in Oslo .
