Monika Debertshäuser

Monika Debertshäuser (born September 18, 1952 in Sonneberg ) is a former German cross-country skier who started for the GDR . Debertshäuser was a member of the SC Motor Zella-Mehlis .

The sportswoman from Mengersgereuth-Hammern was born in the district hospital in Sonneberg. She grew up in her hometown and attended EOS Hermann Pistor in Sonneberg. She achieved her greatest sporting success at the 1976 Winter Olympics in Innsbruck , when she took third place with the GDR relay and thus won the bronze medal.

She married the cross-country skier Gerd Heßler . This marriage was later divorced.
