Deborah C (real name Deborah Cassar ; * 1990 in Għajnsielem , Gozo , Malta ) is a Maltese singer .

Life

Deborah Cassar was born in 1990 in the small Maltese town of Għajnsielem on the island of Gozo. She received singing lessons in her home country from the age of nine. In 2013 the singer received the FIDOF Award and won the Golden Cross International Singing Festival . At Malta TV International Song Festival , Deborah C received a scholarship to train at PBS . She regularly gives concerts in Malta, Russia and Macedonia and in 2010 she performed at the VIVA World Cup with her song Enjoying Moments of Gold . In addition, many of her songs such as Livewire , Pandora , You Make me Go , Love-o-holic or Until We Meet Again have already been in the official Maltese charts, and in September 2012 she won the Konkors Kanzunetta Indipendenza singing competition .

In 2005, at the age of 15, Deborah C took part in the Malta Junior Eurovision Song Contest , the Maltese preliminary decision for the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2005 , with the song Closer . There she took tenth place with 69 points. Seven years later she took part in the Malta Eurovision Song Contest , the preliminary decision for the Eurovision Song Contest . In the following year she reached ninth place with the single Love-o-holic and 17 points. In 2014 the singer took part again with the song It's OK and reached the semi-finals, which took place on November 21, 2014 in Marsa . She qualified for the finals and finished eleventh there.

Today she works as a teacher at a Maltese elementary school.
