Dedalo , internationally known as Labyrinth , is an Italian animated short film directed by Manfredo Manfredi in 1975.

action

A man and a woman sit quietly in a room. Suddenly the wind blows open the window of the room. The man imagines what would happen if he killed the woman. The boundaries between reality and fiction, between the representation of the man's thoughts and an apparent reconstruction of actual events become blurred.

production

Manfredo Manfredi realized Dedalo without cels , but exclusively as a hand-drawn film. For this he created over 10,000 drawings. The film took over a year to complete.

Critics wrote that fantasy is the main character in the film. Manfredi goes beyond the documentary aspect of a plot and brings depth, surrealism and exciting dynamics into the plot.

Awards

Dedalo was nominated in 1977 for an Oscar in the category " Best Animated Short Film ", but could not prevail against Leisure . He received the OIAF Award of the Ottawa International Animation Festival in the short film over three minutes category.
