Delvin Antonio Rodriguez (born May 4, 1980 in Santiago de los Caballeros , Dominican Republic ) is a Dominican professional boxer who fought three times for a world title.
Career
Delvin Rodriguez began his professional career in 1999 and achieved a record of 20 wins, one defeat and one draw by early 2007, before losing to Jesse Feliciano for the first time in March 2007 . In November 2008 he boxed a draw with Isaac Hlatshwayo . Against this he fought for the first time for a world title in August 2009, but lost the IBF fight with a 1: 2 split decision. In November he also lost to Rafał Jackiewicz , while in April 2010 he defeated Mike Arnaoutis .
After a win against Paweł Wolak (record: 29-1), he boxed for the WBA world title against Austin Trout in June 2012 , but lost again on points. After two early wins against George Tahdooahnippah (31-0) and Freddy Hernández (30-4), he suffered a defeat against Miguel Cotto . In May 2014 he reached another draw against Joachim Alcine .
On June 12, 2015 he boxed against Erislandy Lara again for the WBA and IBO titles, but lost to the Cuban unanimously.
