Michalis John Arnaoutis (born September 6, 1979 in Athens , Greece ), better known as Mike Arnaoutis , is a former American professional boxer of Greek origin.
Career
He played 110 amateur fights before moving to the professional camp in 2001. In April 2004, he beat Juan Polo Pérez , while he drew against Juan Urango in August 2004. By knocking out Jesse Feliciano in the first round , he became NABO light welterweight title holder in October 2004 . He then successfully defended his title three times.
On November 18, 2006, he boxed against Ricardo Torres for the WBO world championship in light welterweight, but lost on points (2-1), which was not undisputed. He also had the defending champion on the ground in the seventh round. He missed another title chance by a subsequent point defeat against Kendall Holt . His last significant success was a unanimous point win in May 2008 against the undefeated Lanardo Tyner (19-0), where he achieved the USBA title.
Until the end of his career in May 2014 he appeared as a build-up opponent and lost to Victor Ortiz , Danny García , Chris Algieri and Josesito López , among others .
