Demner, Merlicek & Bergmann , DMB for short, is an Austrian advertising agency based in Vienna , which is run as a GmbH .

history

The agency was founded in 1969 by Mariusz Jan Demner (born 1945), whose parents ran a jewelry store, and Franz Merlicek, of the same age. She was known in the industry for decades as Demner and Merlicek and was one of Austria's top agencies for almost as long; it has had its current name since 1995. Harry Bergmann (born 1951) is currently the most important partner in the company alongside Mariusz Jan Demner. In contrast to other leading advertising agencies in the country, it did not try to become part of an international agency chain.

In 2011 the agency took first place in the EFFIE ranking in the entire German-speaking region and in 2010 it was number 1 in the Austrian creative ranking. In 2008 and 2010 it won all three "Top-Spot promotional drums" in gold, silver and bronze.

In 2011 the campaign for Yes! Of course, it was awarded the State Prize for Advertising in the Print / Outdoor category and the Mömax campaign was awarded the overall prize.

In 2007 the agency was able to turn over more than 100 million euros for the first time. Her customers include BMW , Darbo , Rewe Group , OMV , A1 Bulgaria , XXXLutz , Wiener Städtische Versicherung and Vöslauer .

In February 2015 it was announced that Franz Merlicek, who, according to the agency, has always worked as the company's creative muscle , is leaving the company; He had already sold his shares in the GmbH at the end of the 1980s. Rosa Haider-Merlicek, wife of the former partner, had previously left the agency in the fall of 2014 in a dispute.
