Demon is a heavy metal band from England .
Band history
The band was formed in 1979 at the height of the New Wave of British Heavy Metal by Dave Hill and Malcolm Spooner . The line-up was completed by Les Hunt (guitar), Paul Riley (bass) and John Wright (drums). The band signed a record deal with Carrere Records and released their debut album Night of the Demon in 1981 . The follow-up album The Unexpected Guest became the band's best-selling album. Nevertheless, the band changed their style with the following two LPs The Plague and British Standard Approved , opening up to progressive influences from the 70s. In 1984 guitarist Mal Spooner died. 1987–1991 the band had a second successful phase, in which they also performed live several times in Germany, as evidenced by a live double LP. After 4 years of seclusion, Demon made her comeback on stage at the Bang Your Head festival in 1997 . In 1999 there were two new songs to be heard on a tribute album, before a new studio album was released in 2001 with Spaced-Out Monkey .
