Dengkou
The county Dengkou ( Chinese 磴口县 , Pinyin Dèngkǒu Xiàn ; Mongolian ᠳ᠋ᠧᠩᠺᠧᠦ ᠰᠢᠶᠠᠨ Dėŋḵėü siyan ) is a district of the prefecture -level city of Bayan Nur in the west of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region in the north of the People's Republic of China . It has an area of 4,167 km² and a population of 120,000. Its main town is the large community of Bayangol ( 巴彦高 勒 镇).
The site of the old Shuofang command post (Shuofang jun gucheng 朔方 郡 故城) from the time of the Han Dynasty has been on the list of monuments of the People's Republic of China (6-35) since 2006 .
