Denis Twitchett
Denis Crispin Twitchett (born September 23, 1925 in London , † February 24, 2006 in Cambridge ) was a British sinologist .
Twitchett was a lecturer at the University of London from 1954 to 1956 , then from 1956 to 1960 at Cambridge University . He held the chair for sinology in London (1960–68), Cambridge (1968–80) and Princeton (1980–94). From 1967 he was a member of the British Academy .
