Denis Zmeu (born May 8, 1985 in Kishinev , Moldovan SSR , Soviet Union ) is a former Moldovan football player . He played a total of 91 games in the Moldovan Divizia Națională and the Romanian League 1 .

Career

Zmeu's career began in 2003 at Zimbru Chișinău . There he was only rarely used in the Moldovan Divizia Națională and mostly played a league lower in the second team of Zimbrus. There he made his breakthrough in the 2005/06 season with 17 goals in 18 games. In early 2007, the Romanian first division club FC Vaslui Zmeu signed. There he did not get beyond the role of the supplementary player and was rarely able to maintain his place in the team for a long period of time. With the move to the Romanian Cup final in 2010 and the runner-up in 2012 , he celebrated his greatest successes, but a title win was denied him. After he was no longer considered in the 2012/13 season, he ended his career in the summer of 2012.

Zmeu played a total of 20 games for the Moldovan national team between 2007 and 2011 and scored one goal.
